Batman Sweater

I have to post about this sweater because Leon loves it soo much!  He usually will only wear pajamas because they are more comfortable but now he wants to wear this every day.  Whenever we go somewhere he insists on showing everyone.  He said,"I love it better than my others because it is so soft."  It is true, this sweater is not only made out of a thick fleece it is very soft.

Of course it doesn't hurt that he loves batman.  The site has so many different prints there is something for everyone.  Check them out here at GabbyGooseberry.com

Random

Just a short post today.  I took these of the kids playing at the beach.  Leon loves his pajamas by the way.  I would say he wears them just as much during the day if not more.

Me and the Boys

While the girls were at princess camp I got to spend some time with just the boys.  Things seemed awfully quiet and mellow at home.  Tucker and Leon are far enough apart in age that they don't really ever argue.  The girls sure do add a lot of drama to our household.

One day we went to a splash pad.  I wish we had one of these closer to my house, the kids loved it.

We had just enough time after that to go out to eat.  I don't think I've ever really done that before.  When Bob isn't around it is usually easier for me to just whip something up quick for the kids to eat.  If we want to go out, it is to McDonalds.  We had time to kill so a little restaurant it was.  We took selfies while waiting for our food.

I feel lucky to have two boys and two girls!

I made a video with pictures and clips of Leon's life while he was 2.  It's only a month late :)

Dangerous Bad Guy

Leon was really hyper the other day running around like a crazy little man.  Apparently he is a dangerous bad guy.

Dentist Field Trip

Scarlett's preschool went on a field trip to the dentists office.  It was pretty cute.  They toured the place and taught them about good dental hygiene.  The tooth fairy was even there to show them around.
My kids have always done really well at the dentist.  But Leon has never been, so this was a great way for him to see what goes on in the back.
The kids even got to go on a "ride."

I couldn't help but laugh at Leon while the chair went back.  He was so scared to put his head back.  It was cute.

Here is the class, and Leon, and the tooth fairy.
Scarlett loves preschool so much!

Birthday Party

This year I had a little help getting ready for Leon's birthday party.  Tucker and Penelope were really into it.  So once Leon went to bed they stayed up and blew up balloons.  It was so nice!  I love balloons but blowing them up is not fun.  Instead I hung up a banner and wrapped presents.  We moved the balloons to outside his door.  Tucker even made a little course for Leon to go through when he woke up.

For breakfast Leon wanted pancakes so Bob made him a special one with a bat symbol on the top made out of powdered sugar.

After that the girls and I went early to the parade and the boys hung out around the house.  We picked up the birthday festivities after naps.  Leon wanted macaroni and cheese for dinner.  After dinner he opened presents.
He loved that it was "his" birthday and that all the presents were for "him."  The main present we got him was a new bed.

Leon has been in a crib up until this point and I have been dragging my feet switching him out.  We've always moved our kids out of the crib sooner because we needed the crib for a baby.  But not with Leon.  I loved having him in a crib because he stays in every time until I get him out.  He can totally climb out, but he never does.  I was worried that would end with the toddler bed.  Luckily now that it has been a couple weeks I can say that he stays in his toddler bed and waits for me to come get him every morning and after every nap.  It is so nice!

This bed is great by the way. It starts as a toddler bed and extends all the way to a twin bed.  We used it with Tucker and have been saving it all this time for Leon.  The girls never used it because they went straight into the bunk beds.

Leon loves batman!  So of course we had a batman theme.

I wish I got a picture of the inside of the cake.  It was four layers with bright yellow frosting in between each one.  It looked pretty cool.

I love having these little family birthday parties.  They are so much easier than inviting people and doing something crazy.  Not to be conceded but we are the most important people to Leon and he didn't mind at all that we didn't do anything big.

Happy Birthday Leon!

Leon's Birthday Photography

Leon turned three!  He is learning and growing so quickly I can hardly keep up.  We went out and took birthday pictures the other day.  I usually take them a couple days before his birthday but I was a little late this time and didn't get it done until a couple days after.  Of course Scarlett cut his hair the very day we went out to take pictures.  I did my best, but the front is a little chopped up.

Leon did amazing for his pictures.  He still has a great natural picture smile.  I hope he doesn't loose that and start doing a fake one for the camera.  Whenever he said he didn't want to do the pictures anymore I just told him I would give him a candy when we were done and he perked right up.

We went to the doctor and everything looks great!  I am not concerned but the doctor said that strangers should be able to understand 3/4 of what he says and we are not there yet.  She wants to check back because she saw fluid in his ear and wants to make sure they aren't related.  I think Leon has been talking well from the start and I'm sure he will be easier for people to understand as he gets older.

Weight: 32lbs 57%
Height: 40" 95%

Leon is tall and has been since he was one.  I think he will be the tallest of the kids when they are grown.

Leon is potty trained.  We started teaching him in February and after a couple weeks of him not getting it at all things started to click.  About two more weeks after that of trial and error and he had it down.  I really wanted to get it done before his birthday and he did it. After 8 and a half years I officially don't have any kids in diapers!

Leon is so sweet.  He loves to sit on my lap and cuddle with me.  I think he is the most snuggly out of all the kids.  Its probably because when all my other kids were three we already had a baby they had to fight for attention with.  It is nice to get to spend more time with him.

I love holding his hand.  He is funny because he always holds hand hard.  He has a good grip.

Leon is a very smiley happy guy.  When he gets upset it is cute and we can usually get him to change his mind about whatever he is upset about.  It takes him about two seconds to go from sad to happy.  Once he changes his mind will switch and give a big smile then sillily walk away.

Being the youngest of four Leon definitely has learned to fight get our attention.  The other kids will try to talk over him a lot but he will now yell until they are quiet and let him speak.  He can also be a bit spoiled.  He insists on always sitting on my lap or being first for things.  I think he is a bit more spoiled than the others were.

Here he is trying to show his sad face.  It isn't his actual sad face, which is super cute, but I still like the picture.

Leon loves superheros.  He loves, SuperWhy, Batman, Jedi, and Ironman especially.

Leon also likes to play games and do anything with me.  He will help me with laundry or sit on the counter while we cook.  He has been into Jenga lately and riding his no pedal bike.  When the doctor asked him what he likes to play he said, "with mama."  Isn't that sweet?
I love Leon and am so happy his is in our family!

Humongous Boy

I've been thinking that Leon looks so big lately so I had him stand next to our measuring ruler.  If you look close you can see that he is bigger than Penelope was when she turned four!  I was so mad when I saw this.  I really just want him to stop growing and stay little.  He is two and a half and is as big as a small four-year-old.  He was born huge (9.6) and has been growing like a maniac.  I miss having a baby around the house.  I called this post humongous baby because I've notice Leon use that word when he thinks things are big and it is cute.
He feet always seemed big to me.  I pulled these pics off my phone so they aren't the greatest.
Even though he is getting big he does still like to snuggle with me.  Not for very long but I take what I can get.  And he loves wearing his "jamas."

Leon's Birthday Video

This is pretty late but it has taken me this long to get Leon's video put together.  He has grown so much in the last year.  I love watching the video and seeing him transform in a matter of minutes.  He is such a fun happy little boy and I love him!

More at Grandmas house

While in Puyallup we had time to walk to my old elementary school and play on the playground.  My parents still have the wagon from when I was a kid so my dad pulled three kids the entire way there, back, and around the block.  They wouldn't have it any other way.
The playground is not the same from when I was a kid, but I'm sure that is a good thing.  They had fun and Scarlett was mesmerized by the "gold" slide.
While walking around I found these boots with plants in them outside one of the classroom doors.  I guess one of the teachers was feeling creative.
Then after conference we did Leon's birthday party.  We already had one at home but we wanted to do another one at grandmas house.  Leon love's balls so Bob and I stayed up the night before making a ball cake for Leon.  It was a berry cake with actually berries in it and a white chocolate cream cheese frosting.  I thought it was pretty good.  I was just a little sad that Leon didn't enjoy it.  He was feeling pretty sick at this point and did not get excited at all for the cake.
We didn't even do candles because I didn't want him spitting all over the cake.  I did cut him a slice though and he took one excited bite before he realized he didn't feel good and pushed it away.
Leon perked up a bit for presents.  If I can get him distracted enough he does ok for a few minutes before he goes back to just quietly sitting.
I'm not sure what Leon has but he hasn't thrown up or had a fever since Sunday morning but he just sits on the couch all day and won't eat.  He has been drinking lots of water so I'm not as worried and every once in a while I can get him to eat a cracker or jelly bean, but that is about it.  He has no energy and looks miserable.  Two days ago he even asked to go to bed twice, and cried until I took him to his crib.  It is really sad.  Yesterday he seemed a tiny bit better because he ate some dry cereal and played outside for about 20 minutes, I'm hoping today he feels better.
