Adult Coloring Book Giveaway

I've jumped on the adult coloring book trend, and I've got to say that it can be addicting.  I started coloring from The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt Coloring Book.  It is full of fun patterns.  When I first started I wasn't sure I would be that into coloring.  But as I went on I found that I really wanted to keep coloring and finish the picture.  It was a perfect way to keep my hands busy while watching netflix.

It also felt nice when I showed the kids and they were in awe.  They kept talking about how it looked like it was printed in color.  It was sweet.

When Leon was sick and I had to stay home from church with him I spent my extra few hours coloring.

Watch What I'm Wearing Giveaway

It is getting colder outside so I really wanted to wear tights with my dress on Sunday.  It is amazing how that thin material can keep in so much heat.  I'm wearing my first pair of shaping tights (from Kushyfoot) and I love them!  Whenever I wear this dress I usually have to worry about line showing in the back.  But on Sunday I just threw the tights on top and didn't have that problem at all.

My roommate and friend from college designed these great planners and I want to share them with you.  Its called The Home Executive and it is amazing!  It is so cute and very high quality, this isn't one of those planners that breaks before the year is over.  With school starting in the fall this is the perfect time to get organized.  I love how this planner starts in August so I can have everything together for our regular school schedule.

Probably my favorite thing about eShakti is still that everything is customizable.  In the pictures to the left some of them don't have sleeves, and the shorts are too short for me to wear.  But on most of them you can customize the clothes to have sleeves.  On the shorts you can even choose the length to make them longer.  It is amazing!

It can be so hard to go shopping when most of the clothes in the store don't meet my standards forget about the clothes fitting or looking good.  That is why I always get excited when I hear about a new company that specializes in modest clothes.   I got this shirt from KosherCasual and I love it.

I've worn it a few times and tried styling it a couple different ways.  I think the side knot is my favorite, although it also looks cute belted.  I just love how long it is in the back.  I like being able to wear leggings with it, and I love how I don't have to wear an undershirt.  It seems like half my clothes require and undershirt.

It is good quality and it has a nice stretch to it.  I would definitely recommend this shirt to anyone looking for a tunic type top.

Easy Patches Giveaway

Tucker rips through almost every pair of jeans he owns.  That is why when I heard of Easy Patches I thought they were so neat.  These patches don't require any sewing or ironing!  It is crazy but they just stick on.  I also love them for decorating the kids backpacks and toys.

I let my kids each pick some for their backpacks.  I've seen a lot of kids at the school with the same backpacks.  This a a great way to personalize them.

Some of the best baby gifts I ever received at a shower were burp clothes.  They are so handy and when you have a newborn it seems like you can go through several in one day so it's not really possible to have too many.  Even though I don't have any babies I still use mine almost every day when my kids spill their water cups.  I keep them in a drawer in the kitchen so right when the water splashes down I have a super absorbent "towel" ready for the job.

Ear Warmer Giveaway!

Last week Alyssa from Impractical Composition send Penelope this adorable ear warmer and she has been wanting to wear it every day since.  She actually cried when I took it from her because I didn't want her to loose it before I had time to take these pictures.  I think she especially loves the bow.  That and the fact that she has seen me wear my similar ear warmers.  I have two.

I love how soft the yarn is.  And I love the bow too.  I have a hard time getting her to wear hats and  sometimes when its really cold outside I wish she would wear them.  This head band she doesn't complain about at all.  And another bonus is that she can easily wear it when her hair is up in a pony tail.  We do it that way a lot and it makes any kind of winter hat hard to put on.

Alyssa has all kinds of different designs, including adult ones, at her shop and she sells them for only... wait for it... $11.  I think that is a good deal.  Especially if you think about how long it takes a person to crochet something.  I've made a few baby hats but have never sold any because I would have to charge about $100 because they take me so long.

Once Penelope's hair started getting longer I started to love to do her hair.  I have to admit I like it more than she does.  But sometimes she does get into the different styles.  After just a little while we got kind of stuck in doing the same thing every day (granted this is before Leon was born and I had more time to do her hair).  So I started putting together different styles and everyday we took a picture.  I put together  index of over 40 hairstyles we did and now when I want to do her hair I just quickly pull it up and let her pick one. I even organized the pictures in order of how much time they take me.  So when we are pressed for time I make sure she picks one of the easy ones.  It worked out perfectly for us.

I told a few friends what we were doing and they all wanted a copy.  So I put together a ebook for everyone!  Each hairstyle has a front and back picture and a short description of what I did.  After I finished it I was surprised by how much I actually use it.  I keep it on our computer desktop so I can pull it up quickly when I need to get it.  Sometimes Penelope actually gets upset when I tell her we don't have time to do her hair.  She really likes the control this gives her.  It is a way for her to make one small decision about her life.  And I'm all about giving children as much control over their own lives as possible.
