Watch What I'm Wearing/Baby Blessing

Last week at church Calista had her baby blessing.  It was really sweet and I'm glad my parents could come out to celebrate with us.
I stayed up the night before making headband options for her.  Bob's mom made her dress, it is the same one Penelope and Scarlett wore for their baby blessings.

Here she is showing off her bracelet and nails.

Easter Fun

I felt pretty preoccupied with baby stuff this Easter.  It was hard for me to focus on Easter or plan things to do when I wasn't sure if I would have the baby or not.  I honestly just wanted to not be pregnant anymore.  But Easter has came and went with no baby...

Saturday I took the kids to a public egg hunt.  It wasn't our favorite one but we went to a park we've never been to before and the kids liked it.  They split the kids up into different age groups and the way they split it Scarlett got to go twice.  They had 2 and under, 3 to 5, then they went into grades with Kindergarten to first, second to third and fourth to fifth.  Scarlett being both 5 and in kindergarten she fit into both groups.  I wasn't really going to let her go twice, but she was pretty slow the first round and didn't get very much so we let her go again.  Tucker still got way more than she did so I don't feel bad.

I didn't get nearly enough pictures but like I said, I wasn't caring as much about Easter festivities as I usually do.  We squeezed in just enough time to decorate eggs.
We also made some Easter treats and read lots of Easter stories in the friend.  One story had a recipe for Easter rolls that ended up hallow in the middle to represent the empty tomb.  The kids really wanted to make those and so we did.  They were a little harder to make than we expected but in the end they did work.  We ate them for breakfast Easter morning.

During church the girls wore cute Easter hats and the choir and primary sang.  Bob, Tucker, and Penelope are all in the choir but Bob ended up being the only one to sing in front of sacrament meeting.  Penelope just likes to go to the choir practices not their performances and Tucker was being grumpy that morning.  Both songs sounded really good.

At home after church we had a small egg hunt.  The one at the park was more like a race.  At home we did a hunt where we really hid the eggs.  Each child had a different egg color to look for so they all got the same amount.  Days before Easter the kids kept asking to have them hidden hard.  I guess I hid them a little too hard because Tucker still can't find all of his.  I'm not telling him either.  It is kind of nice having him busy looking for his egg.

I went for a walk this morning and saw my neighbors pretty tree.  I love spring.

#PrinceofPeace

With Easter coming up I like to take some time to think about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I love the videos the church puts out.

Baby Shower

We have quite a few pregnant people in our ward at church right now.  I think there was sixth (one had her baby).  Three of us were due pretty close to the same time and are all having our fifth babies so friends threw us a baby shower.  It was so nice of them!
Aren't these the cutest cookies?  Tishela makes the prettiest cookies, they always look flawless.

We played some fun games.  My favorite one was with the baby pictures.  The moms-to-be each sent in a baby picture of themselves, one of their previous babies, and their spouses.  Then the host added in some extras to make it harder and everyone had to guess which picture belonged to which person.  Can you guess mine?  I'll post the answer at the end of this.

We played another game where I had to guess the baby food flavors without looking.  I think I got about half right... maybe a little less than that.  It was tough.
I took a picture of my stash after the shower Since we all already have four kids we asked for freezer meals or diapers instead of gifts.  I am so excited to have all those diapers!  Plus our freezer is stuffed full of meals, it is going to be great not to have to come up with dinner for a little while after the baby is born.  The baby also got a couple outfits, burp clothes, and a blanket.  I wish I took a better picture of it, but we even got a custom painting!  I love it and can't wait to put it up!
I am so grateful to the friends that threw the shower for me and for everyone who came.  I have so much support in my life I feel truly blessed.

Woestman Christmas Reunion

About every two years the whole Woestman side of the family gets together for a family reunion.  This year it we did it over Christmas at Bob's parents house in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Bob's parents put a ton of work into it and it was amazing!  It was so nice to get to see everyone and we had a great time.
Some of these pictures I took from Maria she was really on top of the pictures this year. Both Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas dinner were scrumptious.

The kids put on an adorable nativity play.
All the kids received at least one set of legos for gifts and they were dying to put them together.

The family also spent a lot of time playing games.  I was tired a lot, partly because of the pregnancy, partly because we stayed up late every night, and partly because I was on cold medicine part of the time so I took a nap almost every day.  I missed out on the life games because of napping and that was ok with me :)
More to come...

O Come

"Times change, years speed by, but Christmas continues sacred. It is through giving, rather than getting, that the spirit of Christ enters our lives. God still speaks. He prompts. He guides. He blesses. He gives."

Watch What I'm Wearing

Today I'm just going to lounge around in my pajamas.  Sorry no pics.  I'll be busy watching General Conference.  This is one of our families favorite weekends.  It is so nice just to spend all day at home with Bob and the kids listening to our church leaders.  Go here to check it out!  And feel free to still link up.  I love seeing your modest outfits.

Zions Camp Day 1

It seemed like we kind of dropped the ball on camping last year so this year we made sure to go at least two times.    Last weekend we went to Zions camp.  It is a church owned camp about 45 minutes away from our house.  I love the church owned campes!  They always have plenty to do.  Everyone must sign in and is a member of the church so I feel a little safer.  And they are pretty inexpensive.

Zion's camp has a lot of these rope swings and our kids were loving them.

I didn't get a picture of it along with paddle boarding we went out on a paddleboat and a row boat.  Tucker earned a swimming cub scout badge and for that he had to learn lots of water safety things and about how to row a boat.
Leon and the girls didn't try the paddle boards but that didn't stop them from playing in the water.

Bob and Tucker really liked the paddle boards.  It was all of our first time trying them and they were pretty fun.  I'm surprised how well Tucker did.  He made me a little nervous but aside from the first few minutes he didn't really fall.

You know what I forgot.  Everyone did ride on the paddle boards. I gave the kids rides on the front kind of like the next picture but they were sitting.

Tucker's the only one in our family who did the water slide.  I wanted to but it was too cold for me to get into the water.

They even have rope swings into the water.

After a fun day at the lake we ate dinner and then headed over to the huge and amazing tree house.  I really want one of these.  Hopefully one day before our kids are grown Bob and I will have a house where we can build one for them.

One of the great things about this camping trip was we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves.  Zion's camp is super busy during the week because of all the Young Women girls camps.  But on the weekends it is empty!  It think there was only one other family in the entire place on Saturday and they didn't even stay the night.
I always feel like camping is a lot of work to sleep outside, but it is fun and the kids love it so much!  Totally worth it.

Eagle Watching

While the tide was low we drove out to Belfair to a known bald eagle watching spot.  It is something I've wanted to do for years, but you need to go during  low tide during the right time of the year and it never seemed to work out before now.

Just as the tide is low the eagles all hand out here.  Why?  I have no idea, but it is pretty cool to watch.

There were a few photographers there, all with ginormous telephoto lenses.  I do not have one of those, but had fun trying to snap a few pics anyway.
The kids thought they were cool for about 10 minutes.  Then they were done.  I think we sat in the car watching for at least a half an hour.

It was a nice quiet Sunday afternoon activity.
