We usually will all go out to the beach and either Bob or I will stay on the sand with the kids while the other goes out into the water. Tucker loves to go out but Penelope and Scarlett don't so we usually don't even the girls is swimsuits. In the above picture you can see our building, it is right behind the red roof. The red roof is a bathroom area for the pool that we can also use. It is pretty neat. The beach is right in our backyard!
Above is Bob out on the surf board. Below you can see me getting ready to go out.I am not really like bob, I haven't even attempted to stand on the surf board. But I do like to paddle out and lay on the board and ride the waves. It is a fun feeling. What is not fun is when you fall. That is why I don't try to stand. Falling while water skiing is no big deal because the life jacket just pops me back up to the surface. This is scary to me because the waves keep crashing down on top of me and they spin me around. Plus there is no life jacket to pull me back up.
Bob is scared of sharks! I think he watched a little to much shark week.
It gets a little windy by the beach, that is why Penelope is wearing a coat. It is not bad though. The water feels fine, maybe a little cold at first but I have never felt cold while out in the water. Bob said the water temp is 65 degrees. I kinda like the weather because we have been hovering right around 70 and I heard that it gets hot in July and August and when that happens the beaches get crowded. We can see other people on the beach but it is not even close to crowded. It is pretty empty during the week.
Here is a picture of our condo from the other side. We are third from the top in the middle. You can see our balcony sticking out. We really love it here!
It looks like you are having a wonderful time. I never surfed growing up, but I did body surf and it was so much fun EXCEPT when you would get pulled under and not know what side was up.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome that you are so close to the beach. We have about a 20-minute walk (at 3-year-old pace) to the beach. Michael wants to take surf lessons, and I'm still undecided. It would be cool to surf, but being out that far in the ocean freaks me out. I'll see how snorkeling goes first.
ReplyDeleteMichael also wants to go swimming with the sharks. It's been his dream since he was a little kid. He wanted me to go too, but I told him no way. I've seen too much shark week where the shark-proof cage isn't very shark-proof!
