6th Anniversary

Bob and I had our 6th anniversary on Sunday!  It is amazing how much life can change in just a few years.  We had a big date planned but it got postponed because it wasn't feeling up for it.  I guess that is marriage right?  In sickness and in health.  I am lucky to have Bob in my life and am excited for when we do get to celebrate, hopefully next month.
I really like this quote and thought I'd share.  Although I do want to say that I believe you can still be 'in love' even after the temporary madness ends.

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.

  2. Happy Belated 6th Year Anniversary. You haven't changed a bit, but Bob does look a little bit older and mature now. :)

Thanks for your comments! I will try to respond to all questions as long as you are not a 'no-reply blogger' (meaning I can't see your email address).
