Tucker had his 100th day of school on wednesday. They had a big party and it sounded like he had a great time. In my elementary school we didn't count the days but it seems like the perfect thing to do for a kindergarten class. Tucker can count to 100 but we did practice it before the big day to make sure. It was funny because he kept jumping back to 30 when he wasn't paying attention. It would go like this 55, 56, 57, 58, 59... 30, 31, 32 and on and on. I told him he was never going to make it to 100 at that rate and that he needed to really think about what comes next after a "9" number.
Anyway, all the kids brought little treats and everyone got to have 100 snacks. Tucker brought a bag of minni marshmallows. He also made a necklace with 100 fruit loops on it and according to Tucker they counted to 100 lots of time. He said they had balloons with papers in them and the teacher would pop a balloon and the whole class would do what the paper said. One paper he told me said to jump up and down 100 times. Sounds fun to me.
It is crazy that he has gone to school 100 days already! It really has gone fast and he has grown a lot. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Part of me hates the fact that he is gone all day and know the huge influence the other kids have on him is hard. But the other part of me is tired and resting and naping doesn't go nearly as well when he is home.
Yesterday I let him watch 101 Dalmatians on Netflix.
What a fun day! Tucker has a strong foundation in his life. I pray every morning for Richard and Garrett who are at school all day too. I pray that they will be sensitive to the promptings of the Spirit and run from evil and harmful influences and recognize when things don't feel right and get away. That is the formula of success for life.
