I made these rainbow rice crispy treats for family home evening last week and they were a big hit with the kids. I wanted to make a St. Patricks Day treat and the only problem I had was I couldn't find the blue food dye. That, and the fact that these are pretty much the same amount of work as making 6 batches of rice crispy treats. I melted 5 large marshmallows, mixed it with the food dye and one cup of rice crispies, then spread it onto the bottom of the pan. I repeated the process with each color.
Oh, and the blue food dye. I'm still not sure where it was, but the next day Scarlett had bright blue hands and face! She apparently found it and rehid it. Bob and I couldn't find it but Tucker found it in a random drawer in the kitchen. I wanted to get a picture of her but putting her down with food dye all over while I ran and got the camera didn't seem like a good idea. Scarlett has a knack for getting into things. Only a couple of days before this she had the red food coloring dumped out everywhere. You are probably wondering why I don't put it out of her reach. Nothing is out of her reach! She climbs up onto the counter and gets everything in the cupboards.
These look super fun!
