Every time either Bob or I ask the kids to do something and they respond with "I'd love to" we put a fuzzy in the jar. Once the jar gets filled up everyone goes out to ice cream. The rule is that if I have to ask more than once or if they respond with "I'd love to" But don't actually do it then I don't put one in. Or if they ask me about putting one in then I'm not going to because them telling me to put a fuzzy in was getting annoying.
It has been working like a charm and making our home a whole lot more pleasant. I've been amazed at what I can get the kids to do without even hearing them complain because of this jar.
We started out with the jar in the above picture that I got from the dollar store. It can hold about 60 fuzzies if I pack them in. And it took the kids about three weeks to fill it up. Next time I'm using a bigger jar and making them earn twice as many fuzzies before we go out.
We filled up the jar for the first time last week and took the family out to frozen yogurt. We had a good time and the kids insisted on sitting at the small kids table that only fits three. Bob, Leon, and I did not mind at all sitting at a separate table. The place was empty anyway.
Love your adorable pictures of your kids.
