Beppu Hike and Safari Park

Of course my kids wake up at 6am on vacation.  Nothing was open at that time so I convinced everyone to go on a hike with me.  There were several hikes near where were staying and I thought I picked one that was just a couple miles.  We ended up hiking six.  Oops.  I thought we would be done by ten but it was more like noon.

It was so beautiful though, I really enjoyed it.

You can pay to ride a ropeway up to the top, but I'm glad we just hiked it.

It was so much longer than we planned, but we still went to the animal safari afterwards.

I didn't get very many pictures, but we were able to drive through the animal enclosures. Including lions and tigers and bears, oh my.

They also had a petting zoo area and a food area where we got way over priced curry.
