Our last two weeks in Japan were so busy. We packed up our house (with the help of professional movers) cleaned everything and checked into the Navy Lodge on base. Bob and I continued to work up until the very end and the kids had a blast running around the hotel alone all day. Seriously, Calista learned that instead of cleaning up like I asked she can pick up the phone and ask the hotel cleaners to come. She did that twice. The first time she ate so much candy, there is a mini mart inside the hotel that she learned how to buy candy from, that she threw up on the bed, called and asked them to change her sheets, and they promptly did it. The second time I was out on a jog and came back to the cleaners in the room saying that we called. I have no idea how she learned it, but they came and cleaned the rooms at my six year olds request. The kids loved the hotel breakfast. The hotel is right next to the pool on base so we went there a few times. The kids took themselves to the movies and the library. My work is not far so I was able to eat lunch with the kids some of the days. We tried to cram in as much last minute eating and playing in Japan as possible.
We had such a great experience during our six years in Japan. Many things were hard but we learned and grew so much that it was worth it! Now I'm ready to live closer to family again.
Oh that's so funny she called the cleaners!! Haha!
