Soccer Season

Soccer season this year felt really rushed.  It had to take a back seat to getting ready to move.  There were also a few games cancelled to rain.  I did manage to take a few pictures here and there.

This was Calista's first year playing.  She loved socializing with friends and didn't care that much about soccer.  One game I all the sudden couldn't find her only to realize she left the field and was on the playground.  In another game I noticed she kept sitting on the bench.  I was a little irritated because there are other kids that don't  pay attention during the game yet Calista was sitting out way more than her fair share.  The coach came up to me afterwards and said that she was refusing to go out onto the field.  The kids walk over to practice after school and I pick them up after work.  I was upset when I went to get them for the last practice and saw Calista didn't have her cleats on.  The kids told me she refused to go to her practice.  She just played on the playground the entire time.  That being said, Calista would say that she liked soccer, and she especially liked the after game treats.
Leon's soccer team was so good.  It was such a contrast to watching Calista's games.  Leon's team had formations and positions and everything.  Leon was the oldest on the team and was therefore able to make lots of goals.  It is always more fun when that happens.
Beatrix was not thrilled to be at the rainy game.  Most of the games she enjoyed though.  She learned to stand next to Calista at the end of the games to get a snack.

Penelope was a good two feet smaller than some of her teammates and opposing teams.  She didn't let that stop her though.  She was never scared to run after the ball and block people no matter their size.  The coach had her playing defense even though she wanted to be offense.

I didn't get a picture of Penelope's team all together.  We were late and she wasn't interested in sticking around.  We had a good season, although I was a little distracted.  The kids each had really good coaches and even though Scarlett didn't participate she came to all the practices and games and played outside.
