With church starting at 9 it can be a struggle to get everyone ready. What makes it worse is I have this dream in my head where we wake up and eat pancakes and get ready about half an hour early so we can rest and relax in a clean house and I can braid Penelope's hair while nice church music is playing in the background. I know it isn't realistic and it probably will never happen. I am only hoping that things will calm down a little bit when we switch to the 11 time.
Last Sunday morning seemed like everything was going well. Bob even had to be at church at 8:30 and we were all going to be ready early and ride together. It was about 8:23 and the kids were ready. I was putting the finishing touches on my hair when I head Bob down stairs say something about throwing Scarlett out the window (he of course would never do that and was joking but seriously upset). I came down to see she had found a bottle of acrylic paint and dumped it in several places on our carpet. Bob also got it on himself. So we were late and frustrated by the time we got to church. We got as much as it up as we could for about 10 minutes and just left. Bob had to sing in Sacrament and was supposed to be practicing at 8:30 so we couldn't really be much later. Now we have a few white spots in our carpet.
But they are cute so we love them!
And Scarlett started nursery so we really just need to make it through sacrament with the three crazies. :-)
What a way to start Sunday morning! Is Scarlett taking after Penelope withe dumping messy things?
ReplyDeleteAs hectic as it can be to leave by 8:30 (although if we are running late, it's usually my fault, because I wanted to straighten or curl my hair), I'm trying to enjoy these last few Sundays of 9am church. Church at 11 messes up lunch and nap time, and it seems like we just sit around waiting for it to be time to leave for church and then we remember we need to do something last minute, so we are rushed anyway.
Oh , the joys of parenthood.... Just remember there will actually be a time in your life when you will miss this chaos...For some reason getting ready for church with little ones is all more chaos because you actually have to take your eye of them so you can get ready...
ReplyDeleteEarly church is so rough. We start at 8. But I'm not trying to steal your thunder, I only have on baby : ) Your kids are darling!

Now that I am in nursery for a couple months we probably won't get to see each other. Even though you pick up two of your kids, I still don't see you.
ReplyDeleteI am with Denise, I don't care for the 11am, but I don't have little little ones. I hear your concern though. Good Luck with the stains.
Your kids always look clean and well-cared for. And look at that nice braid Penelope has!! Sometimes from my perspective you look just like you had that wonderful fantasy Sunday morning!!
ReplyDeleteYou and Bob do really well with your children.
