How to make a Clip on Bow Tie Tutorial

I've wanted bow ties for Tucker to wear to church for a while but haven't been able to find any at the store.  A friend told me she made one so I though I would do the same.  This is a pretty easy project.  After some guidance from my Mother-in-law on the first one I was able to make three more in about an hour.  I really like how these turned out and they use so little fabric you can make them out of almost any scraps you have laying around.  I actually made one out of the scraps from the pillowcase dress I made a couple weeks ago.  I didn't realize before I made them that my 4-year-old son was against wearing a pink bow tie.  I should have known.  I don't know where he learned that because I am always for boys wearing pink.
 Materials needed:
11 by 6 piece of material
2 by 4 piece of material
clip on earing
tiny piece of felt
hot glue gun
sewing machine and matching thread

1) Cut your 11 by 6" piece of fabric and your 2 by 4 piece.

2.) Fold them in half making sure the backs are showing and sew along the long side and one short side.
 3) Turn them inside out and sew along the last edge.
 4) Fold one end about half way in and glue it there.
 5) Fold the other end in and scrunch it a little to make sure the edges do not show.
 6) Pinch the middle and glue it.
 7) Wrap the other piece of fabric around the bow and glue it on.
 8) Get your earrings ready.  Some of them have an extra piece of metal that needs taken off.  In the picture the one on the left has it.  I got my husband to take it off with pliers.
9) Glue the earring on.  Make sure you glue the right side down.  The part that moves should not be glued on.  then glue the piece of felt over the opened earring and you are done.
