Calista's 6 Months

Yay!! Calista made it to six months old!  The first six months with a newborn are such an adjustment period for the family.  Everyone is getting used to having a baby and the baby is getting used to being alive.  We saw a three week old baby the other day and the kids were in awe of how little she was.  They claimed that Calista was never that little.  It is crazy how fast they grow.

Calista likes:

Toys, she always wants to hold something and loves staring at it while grabbing, eating, and turning it around in her hands.
Music, a few times I've noticed she stopped crying when music came on.  I even spotted her dancing a few times.  It was really really cute.
Rolling, she has mastered the front to back roll.
Mom, this is the first month I've noticed she has wanted me over others in the family.  She will lean toward me if someone else is holding her and act like she wants me.  She will be fine with someone else but sometimes when I walk in the room or start talking she will see/hear me and start crying.  Sometimes I feel like she is crying only at me, like, "Mom, why aren't you holding me?"

Calista Dislikes:
Tummy time, she cries the whole time.
Her bed.  We still cannot get her to nap in her bed.  It somehow seems worse this month.  And let me tell you, it is sooo hard to homeschool the other kids while trying to get Calista to take a nap.  She perfers to be held all day long and just take periodic small naps in your arms.

She is so cute!  I love her little face.

It is impossible to be mad at her.  She has the sweetest smile and the prettiest eyes.

Scarletts 6 Months!

Scarlett is six months old!  She actually has been for over a week but I wanted to wait until we went to the doctor to make this post.  Like I suspected she has been declining percentage wise on the weight.  She is little just like her sister and brother.  Her umbilical hernia is noticeably smaller and will probably be gone in a couple more months and her head has even rounded out a bit.

I love this first picture!  I almost only posted this picture because I didn't want to put up other pictures to distract from this one.  It is our desktop background and I just want to sit and stare at it all day.  You have to imagine how great it looks on our huge mac computer.  Plus I spent a decent amount of time editing it in photoshop.

Scarlett is now pretty good at sitting up and rolling over.  It is funny because after she sat that one time she just knew how to do it.  She didn't really go through a practicing phase where she fell over a lot.  She does fall over sometimes and she doesn't even cry about it she just starts playing on her tummy.  As far as rolling goes it is cute because I have seen her roll toward something.  She doesn't do it a lot but she can roll either direction on purpose and sometimes she will roll a couple times to get closer to something.

On Saturday I felt her first tooth sticking out.  It is on the bottom right if you are looking at her and you can see it in the above picture.  And about the picture, every time I look at it it makes me wonder how someone can have such a perfect little face.

Scarlett is still sticking everything in her mouth and sucking/chewing on it.  Whenever we give her a pacifier she just takes it out turns it sideways and holds it halfway in her mouth with her hands and chews on it.  Because she doesn't just suck on it she drop it all the time and they roll away.  It was so annoying we kind of phased them out.

I got to do another little photo session in my backyard; this time with Kenton.  Kenton is a smiley little six month old with adorable curly hair.  Like many babies at this age he is a mommas boy, but we were also able to get a few big smiles out of him because of Grandma and Sister.  Thanks for letting me take your pictures Kenton.

I love taking pictures for people.  It is something I really enjoy and when we do it in my backyard like we did this time it is really easy at not stressful for me at all.  Don't get me wrong, I love to take pictures anywhere.  But this time we were able to do it while Scarlett was sleeping and because we were at my house Tucker and Penelope didn't need my attention too much leaving me free to take pics.

I already have two more people who want me to take pictures for them and i am so excited to get some more practice in.  So if you know anyone who wants pictures taken let me know and i'll be there in a flash ;-).
