Duck Tour

Grandma and Grandpa Woestman came out to visit us and this time we toured Seattle a little bit.  Bob's parents are pretty used to riding the ferry to and from the airport by now but the kids were excited to go on.
It is always so windy outside on the ferry but it is fun to see the Seattle skyline getting closer and closer.

While downtown we went to the farmers market.  It might have just been me but it seemed extra crowded, especially for a Thursday.

We mostly just looked around but made one stop at my favorite Pikes Place donut stand.  They were delicious like always.

I heard the recently cleaned off the gum wall, something about the gum eating away at the brick, so I wasn't sure how full of gum it would be.  It wasn't as full as before but pretty saturated with gum.
Leon wanted a picture with BB8
There is a new playground over by the space needle that is pretty cool.  We didn't have a lot of time to play, in fact Tucker is the only one who made it up to go down the slide.  But I'll have to remember to plan more time for the kids to play next time.  It was a good break for them.

Our main reason for going to Seattle was to Ride the Ducks.  They have these buses that can drive right into the water and turn into a boat.  They are called the Ducks.  It was a 90 minute downtown Seattle tour with about 30 minutes in the water.  I thought it was fun.  Definitely one of the most family friendly tours in Seattle.  They played music and the guide wore funny hats and kept telling cheesy jokes the whole time.  I think everyone enjoyed it.

The weather was amazing!  I think it was upper 70s and sunny.  It felt great.

These pictures are from the ferry ride home.

Like father like son :)
After we got home we started to getting ready for a relief society activity that was at my house that night.  It was a busy but fun day!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for coming to visit!

Spooked In Seattle

I bought a groupon for a ghost tour in Seattle a couple years ago and just finally got around to using it.  It was and expired two for one deal so they let me use it for one ticket and I had to purchase one more for Bob.
Here we are going to into the entrance, this was one of the creepiest parts.  If you know much about Seattle then you know that a lot of it is underground.  They were having major problems with flooding so they built the whole city up higher starting with the streets.  Lots of places still have their underground rooms that actually used to be the original first level.
Here is a picture of our guide, he said his clothes have nothing to do with the tour but he always just likes to dress like that.  We are standing on a spot where someone fell off the roof and died.  People have since seen sightings here.  He basically just took us around and talked about different ghost sightings and the history of the area.

I can't remember the exact significance of this next building but he wanted us to take pictures just in case we got one of a ghost.  The tour was in Pioneer square and even though it looked fine to me the area has a pretty dark history.
Afterward he took us back to the original basement and into this pitch black area.  It was pretty creepy and he talked about sightings and things they've had go on there.

Over all I had a lot of fun.  I'm not saying that I believe or don't believe in that sort of thing, but I do think it is interesting.

Seattle Skyline Photography

I've been wanting to take pictures of the Seattle skyline for a while now but just haven't had the right opportunity.  So when we were in the area for a bike expo I made sure to squeeze in time for these pictures.  I had read online the best location to take them but I was still amazed when I got there at how perfect it was.  You have a unobstructed view of the skyline and we weren't even very far away.  It was perfect.

It was overcast all day and even a little bit rainy.  I want to go back and take pictures on a sunny day and another time at night.  But I'm happy with these because I figure this is what it looks like a good portion of the time.

The next three are the same pictures edited different.

I'm thinking about making a large print of one of these.  Which is your favorite?

Pikes Place Market and Wicked

While in Seattle Bob and I spent some time walking around Pikes Place.  It had been a while and I don't think we have even gone just the two of us.  It was nice to just walk around and relax.  I had this big Seattle date planned for my birthday/our anniversary, but then I got really sick so this was a make up date for that.
The next two pictures were for Tucker.  Just before we went I heard him say, "what if we ate a crab?" I told him that people eat crab all the time.  And he was like, "no, a real crab."  I don't think he really believed me about eating crab so I took these pictures.
The next picture is of a street performer   I could really see myself living in the city. It would have to be when we don't have kids of course.  But bob could play his guitar in the street for money.  I could even visit him and work and eat lunch with him, a luxury we don't have.  I love the idea of not cooking, and just walking over to the market for meals.
This next picture could be me eating my usual breakfast.  It was the biggest donut I have ever seen.  Pretty good too.  I could only eat about half of it and was pretty disappointed the next day when I realized I left it at my mom's house.  They probably just threw it away :(
I took a few more pictures, bought salmon on a stick (yum), and fudge (double yum) and then we walked over to the cheesecake factory for dinner with some friends.

 Here is bob's snickers cheesecake.
Pretty yummy. but I wouldn't say it was as good as my raspberry lemon cheesecake.  It was sooooo good.  I need to figure out the recipe.  They had so many different things to choose from it was hard.  I actually wish we lived closer so we could get cheesecake more often.  I think bob is glad we don't live so close.
After we were all nice and stuffed we walked to the Paramount and watch Wicked.  It was our first broadway play and we loved it!  Definitely a splurge but for our 6th anniversary, and just before Halloween it was perfect.

Watch What I'm Wearing

This is what I wore to Wicked last week.  You might recognize the famous gum wall background.  It was a little awkward taking these pictures with 50 people standing around watching.  That is probably why I didn't take the time to get the lighting right.  Oh well.  I love the Halloweenesk black on black with yellow pops of color.  My hair was curled, but that didn't last five minutes in the rain. So you will have to picture it curled.  And this dress is super comfortable
Dress: Macy's $25?;   Belt: Made it;  Necklace: f21, $10;  Purse: Kaboo;  Leggings;  Boots: Ross, $20?

Another great thing about this dress is that it hides the baby bump well.  The only reason you can see it so nicely in this picture is because of how I am holding the dress down with my arms.  I was about 19 1/2 weeks in this picture.  But because of the dress I don't think many people could tell I was pregnant.
