A couple weeks ago Bob found Scarlett sticking my ipod in a glass of water. Since there was only about an inch of water in the cup I dried it off on my pants and figured it would be good to go. I was actually getting ready to go on a jog so I was surprised and upset when I turned it on and it didn't work. First the screen was really dull and it wasn't responding to my touch. Then the screen just went black and I couldn't get it back on. I was bummed and did not feel like going on a jog anymore. But I went anyway.
There is something you should know. We got our ipods for free. I use mine to go jogging, play words with friends and draw something, and for my scriptures. That is it. It is much more a toy than a necessity and we weren't going to go out and get a new one. I tried to let it dry but didn't have any success at first.
Good news, I was able to get it to work again and here is what I did.
Stuck it into a bag of uncooked rice. The rice is supposed to absorb the moisture. Than I kept trying to turn it on everyday for 7 days with no success. On the 7th day I plugged it into the computer and it worked just like normal! Woohoo. I was hesitant to plug it in because everyone says not to run power through it unless you are sure it is completely dry. But it works and now I am happy.
My brother-in-law said he had an ipod shuffle that stopped working than randomly 6 months later it worked again. Anyone else have stories of wet/broken electronics coming back to life?

I ran my iPod touch through the washer and part of a dry cycle (it was a little dirty and I had to get it clean:). It had problems turning on at first, but then I used Rebecca's hair blow dryer on it and let it rest for a day or two. After that it worked fine. You could still see some water marks on the inside of the screen for about a month, but now those are gone too. Amazing what those things can go through.
