How to Tease hair and use Bump Its

Since I am giving away a teasing brush here I thought it would be fun to do a tutorial using the brush.

I first got the bumpits a couple years ago for my birthday and at first Bob thought it was funny.  Ok, I know it is a little embarrassing that I have something they have infomercials for but I am glad I got it (I don't love it as much as I love my snuggie, but that is a different matter).  I know they sell at walmart and if you click the link above you will see that Amazon even sells them for only $6.39.  Now before I start to sound like an advertisement I want to say that it is totally possible and even not that difficult to do a bump or poof in your hair without the bumpits.  I just like them because I can get a bigger poof and it helps my poofs to last longer.

As far as the teasing brush goes, don't buy one, just win one from my blog.  And if you don't win you can probably get one from any hair salon for under $10.

In the picture I used the largest bump and I normally don't use that one or do a poof quite so large but I thought I would use it to demonstrate.
Teasing your hair is not very difficult.  All you do is pick up the hair, start the brush on the underneath side of the hair a couple inches away from your head and bring it down closer to your head.  It is hard to explain in words so just watch the video.
Have fun!

With very curly hair this isn't something I am doing LOL But I have always wondered about it! I followed you from Homemade by You. Here is my offering this week: http://likemamalikedaughter.blogspot.com/2012/04/keep-calm-and-craft-on.html

Thanks. Your hair do is so pretty! My sister is a hairstylist and said she has seen clients stuff toilet paper inside their bumps! She cracks up about that! She teased my hair into a bump for our sister's wedding and everyone kept asking me if I had a bumpits! We kept laughing because we all had secretly wanted one! All but my hairstylist sister- she is all pro and didn't need one : ) I might check Wal Mart...my sisters would love one! and I would too!
