The idea of this cake is that there is so much chocolate you get "wasted" off of it. I don't drink so eating this cake is pretty much as close to wasted as I'm ever going to get. I thought it would be perfect for my birthday.
I was pretty yummy! Costco has a really good chocolate cake and I was hoping this would be as good as that. I have to say it might be a close rival. It is very good, but different from the costco cake, if you know what I'm talking about.
To make this cake I used a chocolate fudge box and baked it just like the directions in two 8" pans. Then I froze them and the next day frosted them with store bought chocolate fudge frosting (I'm all about easy). Next I pressed semi-sweet chocolate chips around the outside. Put pieces of symphony bar, kit kat, and Hershey kisses all over the top and drizzled it with melted chocolate chips (mixed with a little oil to help with melting). I also bought hot fudge and ice cream to go with it. Ice cream is a must!
I'm pretty sure I got a stomach ache just making this cake. It was pretty hard to resist all the candy bar pieces.
Mmmmm.... I'm going to get a piece of it right now. Kids sleeping, netflix and snuggie waiting, what could be better?

OH. MY. GOSH.
I can get a chocolate-induced comma with this! And that's how I like it! When I turned 30 I made a "chocolate on chocolate on chocolate" cake. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling, covered in chocolate... it was just the best way I could find to celebrate my 30s!

Are you bring a piece for me to moms tomorrow? I might need it after our run. I'm not sure I would even burn off the calories for one bite!
Oh my goodness!! That looks absolutely delicious! Happy Belated Birthday!
