The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe Play

This year for homeschool one of the books Tucker read was "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe."  Tucker loved the book and once he was finished I let him watch the movie as well.  Naturally when we saw that the Seattle Children's Theatre was doing a play of it we had to go.

It was crazy trying to get there. Bob took the day off work to watch Leon so Tucker and I could go.   Bob and Leon left for grocery shopping and about 20 minutes later Tucker and I got in the car to leave.  Unfortunately the car wouldn't start!  We were instantly stressed because we needed to catch the ferry and make it in time for the play.  Plus Tucker was really looking forward to this and would have been devastated if we missed it.

I called Bob and he left his cart and rushed home from the grocery store to jump our car.  We immediately left and pulled in through the ferry gate just as it pulled away.  With no other options we decided to drive all the way around instead, but I knew that would cut it close time wise.  Luckily we got there about 15 minutes before the play starting time.  We were supposed to be in our seats by that time and we were still looking for street parking.  I was relieved when we got a spot and only had a few blocks to walk.  After walking a bit I realized I didn't pay for parking, Bob usually does that sort of thing.  We literally ran back to the car to see what number we parked in and then to the meter thing to pay.  It was a parking garage and I had no idea what space I was in.  Next we had trouble with the credit card and had to run back to the car again to get a different one.  After paying we jogged all the way to the play just as our homeschool group took their seats and the play began.  I made sure Tucker got a seat and then left him to go to the bathroom.  I missed the first couple minutes of the play.

It was very stressful getting to the play but once we were sitting it was great!
Definitely the best children's play I've seen.  Very professional.
We had an extra hour afterwards before catching our return ferry so we ate lunch in the Armory.  They had a train display set up and Tucker even got to drive a train.

On the ferry ride home we read together a different chapter book.  It was nice to spend time with just Tucker.  I love doing things one on one with my kids when possible.

Wow - what a rough start. Glad you had a great time once you finally sat down.
