Sagada

Sagada had a lot of interesting things to see.  We went into a weaving factory where we saw them make blankets.  It was interesting to see them working the big looms.  They had signs up everywhere not to take pictures or disturb the employees.
The main thing we saw in that town were the hanging coffins.
Now they burry most of their dead like we do in America, but they used to hang them.  You can see some of the coffins are shorter and that is because instead of laying flat the people were more in a crouched position inside the coffins.  After time the coffins would fall off the wall and that was fine with them.  They just let the remains decompose back into the earth.  We even saw real bones from fallen coffins.
The dirt in the area is really great for pottery.  We toured a place where they make it.

For dinner we came across this little restaurant selling lemon meringue pies.  I love lemons so we got one to try.  It wasn't as good as what I'm used to, we didn't even finish it.  They did have these tiny tables and chairs though.  When we were sitting taking a picture some of the other guests in the restaurant decided to take a picture of us too.  I felt like a giant.
I took a picture of our dinner that night.  I ordered orange chicken so I just kind of expected it to be cut up pieces of meat.  This was one of the better meals I had.
Our hotel that night reminded me of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, except we only had 4 beds lined up.
This was our bathroom.  Not really nice for a hotel but definitely nicer than the public toilets we came upon.  Notice the garbage?  Often their toilets can't even flush down toilet paper, so I'm pretty sure that is supposed to be thrown in the garbage every time.

Okay - the coffin thing is gross. Aren't you so thankful to live in America!
