Shomyoji Hike

We had time for a couple hikes over the break.  This was to one of my favorite nearby parks, Shomyoji.
They painted the bridge since the last time we came.  It is so pretty.  This is a huge park for Japanese standards.  It doesn't have any playgrounds or things like that.  Just a temple and lots of outdoor play space.
We heard music and chanting and then through the trees saw a group doing some sort of dance.  It reminded me of a hula.
 Scarlett loves to find flowers.

This next one is me trying to get a picture of Calista and I with the bridge in the background.  Not quite a success.
Here we have me and Calista but no bridge.  She is in the baby carrier, by the way.
The pond was full of ducks, koi, and even a few turtles.
The big field is where the kids really like to play.  I'm not sure why but whenever we come here they are excited and just want to run around.
Notice how no one has their coats on?  It was beautiful outside and not really coat weather.  I'd say sweatshirt weather, but the kids thought t-shirt weather.  It was a problem because I made them bring coats, and then they complained at me about it the entire time.

We stopped for Taiyaki before heading back onto the train to go home.  On Fridays they are strawberry filled, so of course we all got strawberry.
