Summer Fun

We made it to Baskin Robins on the 31st of July!  They have cheap ice cream scoops on the 31st of every month and we almost always are busy or forget.  But I made a point to go this time.  The kids thought it was a real treat.
I think Beatrix was surprised by the cold.

 Calista was a mess.
Aside from ice cream we have been filling our summer with reading.  I was so happy when I saw Scarlett sleeping amidst a pile of books.  She struggles with reading and I know she just has to get a little bit better for it to be enjoyable for her.  This is a sign to me that she is starting to get over that hump.  It didn't hurt that we went to the library that day and she checked out like twenty little mermaid books.  The other kids told me that she cleared the shelf into her bag.
The kids put together these Leonardo Da Vinci weapons and have been building forts and shooting each other.  These two were named Death Launcher and Beware.
Tucker even made a video of them attacking each other.

We also went to the beach!  It is getting so hot here.  Like I want to move away from Japan hot.  It is like about 31 degrees celsius everyday but because of the humidity feels about 100 fahrenheit.  It also only drops about ten degrees at night so there is no escaping the heat.  I'm glad we got to the beach because just after we went it has once again been deemed off limits because of covid.

The kids caught quite a few water animals.

Tucker's best friend, Bryce, is moving away so I made sure to get a picture with him.  It is really sad because they play together almost every day for like the last 2 and a half years.  He is really great and polite and played with all of the kids.  We will miss him.
Tucker made him a puzzle for his long journey back to the states.
Thats just a little of what we have been up to this summer.
