It is finally cooling off around here which means we have a couple months of great weather before it gets cold. I'm taking advantage of it by forcing my kids to explore and go on local hikes. This first one is Yumihari, I honestly would not recommend it. The view was great, but the hike was just walking up the mountain on the road. I'm not sure why it is rated Sasebo's top hike on all the tripadvisor sites.
This next one is Mt. Eboshi again. This time we went with friends and started at a different point. It stared great, but then we got a little lost and just ended up walking the second half on the road back to the car. I think I need a friend who knows all the local good hikes. haha. We had fun though. And when I say that I mean the older kids (Tucker) complained a ton before we left and acted like we were ruining his life.
For General Conference we are no longer supposed to watch it a week later but now have the same conference weekend as those in the states. So we watched all three Saturday sessions on Sunday, just one day late. And we will watch Sunday's sessions on this coming Saturday. If we have time we will do them during the week, but our nights are pretty busy with homework so I don't see that happening. I heard they are building a temple in Tacoma!!! I'm thrilled. The peninsula would be much closer, so I don't really see the logic in Tacoma because that isn't too far from the Seattle temple, but I'm sure they have their reasons for that location. Bob was saying he wishes is was on our side of the toll bridge. Just kidding, the one $5 toll bridge is nothing now that we are used to the many many tolls we pay here in Japan.
