Gingerbread Houses

This year I wanted to make a Japan inspired gingerbread house.  I settled on a simple house with Fujisan in the background and a rock garden.  I love how it turned out.  Super simple yet elegant and pretty.  I love making actual gingerbread.  I did it last year for the first time and it is not hard at all like I thought it was going to be.  Not to mention it makes our house smell amazing.
The kids had so much fun making their houses as well.

Scarlett and Leon made smaller houses with huge piles of candy in their yard.  I think they were thinking more about eating their houses later.
Tucker also was inspired by Japan and made a pagoda.
Calista, Beatrix, and Bob all worked together on this fun creation.
I always think about making a gingerbread nativity, but it never seems to happen.  Maybe next year.
