General Conference

It was nice to stay home and relax all weekend while we watched the 181st annual General Conference.  As  I've gotten older I've learned to appreciate conference more and this weekend was no exception.  I didn't realize how long President Monson has been in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.  What a sacrifice his wife and children have made for the church!  In case you missed it he was only in his 30s and his youngest child was only 4-years-old.  And that was 50 years ago!

I love listening to the leaders of the church.  It even seemed like the kids did better than they did last time.  It did help that they nap all during the second session.  Penelope is also old enough now to play and Tucker does understand us when we tell him to play quietly, even though he doesn't always listen.  I printed a conference coloring activity book that kept him busy for a little while.
I had fun setting up the first presidency according to who was speaking.

Part of my family came over today to enjoy conference with us.  We are picking up on a tradition my Sister-in-law does to have waffles and ice cream with lots of toppings between the sessions.  It was fun and we definitely need to do it again next time.  But I want to invest in a new bigger waffle iron, one of the ones that flips over half way.

In previous years we try to plant our garden on Saturday in between sessions.  Due to our nonstop rain our garden is no where near ready and it just wasn't going to happen.  Hopefully we will get some sun next weekend.

L did the TP prophet too. He was so excited and played with it all day. Did you cut your TP rolls? Cuz our guys aren't tall enough to cover some of the roll.

YUM, that looks really good. We have 2 of those waffle iron things if you want to borrow them for next time.

Hey! I didn't know you guys did that waffles and ice cream tradition. That's awesome! We did it too (obviously) but that's great that you guys are starting to do it. I love it! Glad you enjoyed conference. :)
