It worked most of the drive, although it did stop working here and there for a few minutes. One time it stopped for about 30 minutes and I was getting seriously hot but then it kicked on again. I took this picture while driving. 101 degrees outside and it seems like when the car is in the sun it can get a lot hotter than it is outside.
We left a day early so we could stop and visit friends. Angela and Heidi were childhood best friends and next door neighbors. It has been way to long since I've seen them so we made sure to stop. This first picture is of Angela and I.
A few hours later and we made it to Heidi's house.
She lives in Bend Oregon so we drove up Pilot Butte to see the view. Not many places have a 360 degree view like that.
Besides visiting friends and the car getting hot the drive was pretty uneventful. The kids did great until about the last hour when we hit traffic and everyone was ready to be done in the car.
They kids watched movies and we listened to what I think was the entire Henry Huggins series of audio books. Though they were written for kids Bob and I even thought these were funny.
Like how packed the car was? We managed to fit everything inside and still peak out the back window, barely. The kids getting in and out of the car for rest stops was kind of an ordeal, but we made it just fine.

Nothing worse than when AC is not working. Same thing happened to Corinne's family on our way to Disneyland last year. Glad your's wasn't totally. road trips are great. Hope your San Diego trip is great this year!
I bet that the ac wasn't working when David tried to recharge it...Hope you got the other thing fixed too...
