Senso-ji Temple

One of the last things we did with my parents before heading off to Korea was go to the Senso-ji temple near Asakusa.  After getting off the strain we stopped at the tourist information center and went up for the great view.  It was said to be one of the best and views of Tokyo and I loved that it was free.
Here Penelope and Scareltt are looking at a map, but it looks like some of the Japanese people are staring at them instead of the map.
There is a fun shopping street leading up to the Buddhist temple.  We watched them make bean paste buns that are pretty good when warm.  The kids and I like them, but the first time I thought they were strange.  They have different shapes, often fish, and if you are expecting the inside to be chocolate then you will be sorely disappointed.

This five story pagoda is pretty rare in Japan, it was built in 942 but was repeatedly lost to fire and rebuilt.  The latest reconstruction was in 1973.
In the next picture Penelope is standing in front of Tokyo's oldest bridge.
Scarlett is looking at where they burn incense.  We see these at most of the buddhist temples.
Posing with a guardian of the temple.
They make these sweet rolls here in Japan that are pretty good, but this was my first time seeing one frozen and turned into an ice cream sandwich.  It was worth the try.
We visited another fake food store.  I think Leon wants me to make these pancakes for him.
After walking around the shrine we went to the mall for a few minutes.  I had Calista on for a few hours now and was getting tired.  Tucker has been asking pretty much since she was born if he could wear her in the carrier so I finally let him.  This picture pretty much sums up both of their feelings about it.
The carrier was a little big for him, but he did it fine for about 30 minutes.  Then he said it was starting to hurt him.
