Christmas Season

A cookie exchange earlier in the month it totally took over at least a week of my time.  I volunteered to make sugar cookies without realizing I would need to bring 132.  I didn't really know how much time it would take for me to make that many cookies.  Hours and hours were spent rolling, but mainly decorating cookies.  I thought it would be a little easier going with all white, but even with that modification the stockings and mittens were much simpler than I planned.  It didn't help that Beatrix took small bites out of 11 different finished cookies.
Viewing the Christmas trees on base has become a tradition we do here in Japan.  I'm glad it still happened with all the restrictions we've been having.  They usually serve giant delicious cookies and hot chocolate but not this year.  It really wasn't the same.
Swimming with Santa, is always a ton of fun.  I didn't get any good pictures, but the kids got to decorate a tree in the swimming pool.  They love to see who can put ornaments on the very bottom of the tree.  That is not a small feet if you are working on the tree that is positioned in the deep end.
I started adding more personal ornaments to our Christmas tree.  The idea of getting them as souvenirs from our travels is really fun.  This way I don't have random magnets or spoons from our vacations but every year we do have something as a momento to remind us of the cool places we went.

Today is Christmas Eve and the kids are so excited for Christmas tomorrow.  I think Bob and I don't go crazy with presents, but we did still end up needing to wrap presents for two hours last night.
