Beatrix 10 Months

Beatrix is ten months old!
I finally got a chance to take her to the doctor.  We were a bit behind because it was hard to get into the hospital on base.  They kept saying she wasn't registered and we kept having to go in with different documents.  The whole thing was weird because she has been to the very same hospital before, not to mention that she was born there.
Anyway, she is measuring small.  I knew she was small which was one reason I wanted to get her in for an appointment, it is also whey I am still feeding her during the night.  But I didn't know exactly how small she really is.  She is measuring under the 1% for both weight and height.

We are going to work hard this month on helping her gain weight.  I was already feeding her more often then I did my other kids, but I guess it wasn't enough.  She is a really happy baby though so it was a little hard to tell.  She doesn't really cry because she is hungry.  I am now going to nurse her every hour and a half and hopefully that will help her start to put on some pounds.

We have started giving her baby food, not that it has anything to do with her weight gain.  The doctor confirmed what I thought about how giving her baby food is just for practice and not really for nutritional value.
Other than that she is meeting all her milestones.  She can crawl like a pro and pulls herself up to a stand.  She likes to wave and clap and smile at everyone.  She doesn't say any real words yet, but I'm sure she will sometime soon.
We sure do love her!

Calista 10 Month Photography

The last two months she did amazing for her pictures but that was not the case today!  Now that this girl can move she won't stop.  For this picture I set up the sign, put her down and dashed to my camera which I had ready and then snapped the pic about 10 seconds before she slammed the sign down knocking off a third of the letters.
Calista likes scooting, getting things, army crawling, yogurt, and eating crumbs off the floor.  She will scoot all around now and is so happy about it.  Once in a while she will fall down after which she will proceed to army crawl around.  I don't think she minds either but she seems to prefer scooting and the girls are quick to swoop her up when she falls so I'm not sure if she will get much better at crawling.  She thinks it is funny to scoot away from us.  She spent one of Tucker's entire basketball practices trying to scoot onto the court.  Everytime she got passed the line I or Scarlett would pull her back and she would take off again, looking over her shoulder smiling at us to make sure we were watching her.
She also likes to eat any crumbs she can find on the floor and with four older siblings she finds plenty.  One time I found the kids "accidentally" dropping big pieces of their brownies on the floor and then laughing about how much she liked them.
I've found she doesn't like to eat green beans, I'm not sure why but she pushes the mushed green beans out of her mouth even though she likes pretty much everything else.  She also doesn't like showers.  She has this bad habit of pooping a ton in her crib.  So much that it is pretty much everywhere and she needs a shower right away.  She hates it and it isn't fun for me either.  This probably happens at least once a week.

These next pictures aren't that great but I wanted to share them because they show a little bit about how things went.  She scooted around and wouldn't hold still for the camera.

I even took things away so she would have nothing to play with but that didn't stop her.

I love this girl and  I'm not going to lie, she is getting more and more fun the older she gets.

Leon's 10 Months Old

Leon really seems to have gotten older during the last month.  He now pulls himself up to a stand and crawls the regular way.  I even saw him pull him self up, bend down to grab something and stand back up (while still holding on to the couch).  He also is very good at going up the stairs.  That kind of came out of no where, it was like one day he went up a couple stairs and that was it.  Then two weeks later he can do the entire stair case no problem.
Leon has 6 teeth, but I think that might be the same as last month.
I know you can't see in these pictures but I think he is about ready for another hair cut.  So far he has had one major hair cut and two trims (around the ears, and the neck).  I don't know any 10-month-olds who need a fourth hair cut!
I love his new hat.  I think he is going to wear it every day to church until it doesn't fit him anymore.  Which will probably be in a month or two.
I was saving some cute videos of Leon to put up with this post.  But we lost our video camera :(  We took it sledding and haven't seen it since.  I'm hoping it just turns up and that someone didn't take it.

I love Leon!  He is like my little buddy that I just take everywhere.  Seriously, I was feeling sick the other morning and I just wanted Leon to snuggle in bed with me.  So I held him in bed and played with him and even though I still felt sick I did feel much better.  He is still really smiley and loves to climb all over me and try to bite my fingers.  I can't believe he is coming up on his birthday already!

She's 10 Months!

As of yesterday Scarlett is 10 months old!  She now has 5 teeth, three on the top two on the bottom, and she is growing into her one year clothes.  Over the past month she has become quite the wiggly child.  Whenever I try to hold her she is always turning this way and that way and trying to lunge off of me.  Church is almost impossible because she hates to be contained on a lap during the whole hour sacrament meeting.  And she still has this crazy high pitch scream, not cry she does plenty of that too, this is an ear piercing, look at me now mom, scream.  It is fun to see how her personality is developing.
Above you can see her standing up.  I wanted to make sure and get a picture of this because she just started pulling herself all the way up to a stand.  I also think she could crawl on all fours if she wanted to because I have seen her do it for a step or two but then she lunges back onto her tummy for the army crawl.  I think that is just how she is most comfortable getting around.
Scarlett is still a great sleeper.  She barely ever cries when we put her down and she will stay from 8 at night to 6:30-7:30 in the morning with one three hour nap in the day.
She has learned to laugh at Tucker and Penelope.  They will do something silly and she will laugh provoking them to do it more.  It is fun.  Also she now waves and if you get close and say kisses she will lean her head into you so you can give her a kiss.  It is very cute.

I love Scarlett!
