Sticker Nail Review and Tutorial

I love love love my Jamberry Nails!  Sticker nail polish is just such a great idea.  You can get amazing designs that you would never be able to paint yourself and the best part is that they don't chip.  I waited a long time to write this post because I really wanted to test them out.  Mine lasted a full three weeks and then I took them off because I felt like my nails were growing out too much.  At first I was scared that they would fall off.  Like maybe when I got in the shower, or when I took off my toe nail polish, but I never had a problem.  If you want to buy some or are even thinking about being a consultant go here to my friends Julie's site and she will help you out.

They took a bit longer to put on then just painting your nails but they last way longer so I thought it was worth it.

I haven't done a tutorial in a while so I thought I would turn this into one.  Here is my video tutorial on how to apply sticker nails.

Toe Nails

One fun thing about having little girls is I get to paint their nails.  I love doing girly type things the only hard part is finding time and getting Scarlett to hold still.... and stopping Leon from eating the nail polish.

This time we chose a mint green color with white stripes.

I know, I got it all over the edges.  I like to just let it dry and then pick it off.  You can ignore my feet.  I only posted this last picture because I just love Scarlett's chubby little feet.  Aren't they cute?

Valentine Nails

Happy Valentine's day!  I have a last minute nail idea for everyone.  This really is something you can do pretty fast and it is valentine themed.  Do you like the conversation hearts?  They aren't my favorite candy but I do like to have them once a year.  And the kids think they are the best.  The only thing I don't like about them is when the kids keep asking me what each one says.  It is impossible to get a moments quiet when three kids keep asking what each piece of candy says.  Anyway,  I made valentine conversation heart nails.

The first thing you have to do is get matching nail polish.  I just dumped out my nail polish bag next to the conversation hearts and matched them up the best I could.  Using all matte polish, or a matte top coat would be ideal, but I didn't want to buy anything so mine are shiny.

Next paint each nail a different color.

Once that dries use a red fine tip sharpie to write your messages!

Unfortunately my nails are chipped already. Good thing I took a picture right away :-)

Candy Corn Nail Tutorial

After my candy corn outfit I decided candy corn nails would be perfect for Halloween.  They are simple and fun and I am sure anyone can do them.

Materials Needed:

Orange nail polish

Yellow nail polish

White nail polish

 1) Paint your nails yellow.  You can do the whole nail or just the half closest to your cuticle.  Wait for it to dry.

 2) Paint the top 2/3s orange.  Wait for it to dry.














3) Paint the top 1/3 white.  Clean up edges and apply top coat if desired.

Easy Independence Day Nails

What are you doing on the fourth of July?  Whatever it is you might want to jazz up your nails a bit.  These flag nails are very simple and easy to do.  All you need is blue, red, and white nail polish.

 1) Paint your thumbs blue and the rest of your nails red.

2) Make a white star on you thumb nails.  I have a white polish with a very skinny brush from the dollar store and making the star with it was easy.

I know I need to clean up my cuticles but I want to wait for it to be really dry to do that.  So just ignore it for these pictures.

3) Paint white stripes on your red nails.  They don't need to be perfect and it doesn't matter how many per nail.  As you can see I did 3 or 4.

That's it, now you have flag 4th of July nails!

Just so you know I did not make this up but I saw it a while ago and don't remember where.

Rainbow Nails

Yesterday was for me a rainy don't want to do anything sort of day.  My throat hurt and I think I have a mini cold.  The type of sick when  it isn't bad enough to call yourself sick and stay in bed all day but you are still not feeling that great.  I wasn't quite prepared to do a tutorial today so I did something quick and St. Patrick's Day related.  I landed on painting my nails.

This Tutorial explains how to paint a rainbow on your nails.  I like to paint my nails.  I only paint them about once a month and let them slowly chip away until I can't stand it anymore and then I paint them again.  Does anyone know any tricks for keeping nail polish on?  I have never had fake nails and I don't really want them either.  No offense if you have them, they do look good and they keep the nail polish on without chipping they just seem like too much hassle/money for me.  What do you think about fake nails?

1) Pick your polish.  My colors are not right for a rainbow but it is what I had and I didn't think it really mattered.  I also like to use the Art Deco thin brush polishes.  They are great for making lines and are only $1 at the dollar store.

 2) Paint your nails half and half and wait for them to dry.  I did this with my two colors that don't have the thin brushes.  If I had all think brushes I would probably just do one stripe at a time.

 3) Paint on the stripes and wait for them to dry.

 4) Add the clouds by doing three white dots on one side then connect them to each other, then let them dry.  I thought these looked exactly like clouds.  When I showed Bob he asked what the white blobs were.  haha, I guess we don't see things the same.  His first comment when I showed him them was about the rainbow being the wrong colors.

 5) Paint on a clear top coat.  Thats it!

Now I just need to keep them from chipping until after St. Patrick's Day.
