4 Months Old Photography

Beatrix is four months old!  She is getting better and tummy time and smiles quite a bit.  Still no change on the sleeping through the night front, I usually feed her twice, but maybe that will change over the next month or two.  She fits into 3 month clothing and is a little on the small side but is growing well so we aren't concerned.  She loves to suck on her fingers and for people to play with her especially if they softly touch her cheeks.

Calista 4 Months

Calista if now four months old!  I feel like in the past that is sort of when babies start to get a bit easier to take care of.  She is still up quite a bit at night but I'm hopeful that things will change in that area soon. Once we are settled we are going to try to get her on a sleep schedule.  Right now she usually takes two long naps during the day in her bed, but the time isn't set.

Calista likes, kisses, half rolling over, drooling, sucking her thumb, smiling, and of course milk.  She doesn't like being left alone, tummy time, or sleeping through the night as she has yet to do it.  She does let us put her in the bumbo seat more often than before and she is getting pretty good at holding her head up.  I don't seem to be holding her as often because I think she doesn't feel as strong of a need to be held as long as she sees people around her.

Leon's 4 Months!

Leon is 4-months-old and one great baby.  He is always so smily just looking at him brightens my mood.  It is really hard not to be happy when he is smiling at you with the biggest toothless smile you have ever seen.  And if you tickle him he laughs the cutest baby laughs.
Leon actually went from sleeping through the night consistently to waking up at 2:30 every night.  So last month he didn't sleep quite as well.  But I think this month we will get back on track.
Some people want me to cut his hair.  But I just thought I would tell everyone that it isn't going to happen.  At least not for now.  I love his 3" (yes, I just measured) long sideburns.

Leon has also been rolling over like crazy.  He can go both directions but mostly goes from back to stomach.  So when we put him down for bed all wrapped up tight with his arms stuck at his sides he takes about 5 seconds and flips himself over.  Then he pops his head up and looks around like "what happened?"  It is funny, but worrisome because I know he is supposed to sleep on his back but he just wont anymore.  I think we might stop wrapping him so he can at least have the use of his arms when he is on his stomach.

Leon has been loving his hands.  I always catch him clasping his hands together and just staring at them.  It is like he just discovered they existed.  So cute.

Stats:
Weight 14lbs (33%)
Height 26.5" (94%)
Head 16.5" (42%)

4 month appointment

On Monday Scarlett went in for her 4 month appointment.  She is starting to tapper off in weight just like my other children did.  I was hoping she was going to be a 'thicker' baby than the rest but she has started dropping.  All my children were born a good size but shortly after birth would develop into a more petite frame.  A friend told me she thinks she produces skim milk.  I think the same must be true for me. :-)
Weight: 13# 7oz (41.42%)
Height: 25 1/4" (82%)
Head Cir. 16" (37%)
The doctor is not at all worried about her weight and I can tell that she is more on track with her gross motor skills than Penelope was at this age.  The only thing of concern is that she usually looks right.  She also has a big flat spot on the back of her head.  The doctor is going to see us again in a month and if things aren't improving we might have to do physical therapy and possibly a helmet.  She said the helmet isn't very likely though.  I am really hopping that we can get the problem fixed before the next appointment because I do not want to go through the physical therapy again.  The trick is to put a lot of exciting things to the left of her.  It doesn't really work to force her to look left.  We need to entice her to look left.  If anyone knows any tricks or has advice on this I would really appreciate it!
Scarlett is sleeping in my bed right now.  She likes to eat around 6 AM and then go back to sleep.  Sometimes 'till 8 sometimes 'till 10.  It's nice.

4 months already?

Wow, I can't believe Scarlett is already four months old.  The first few months of having a baby always go so fast.  It seems like just yesterday she was a little wrinkly newborn and Bob and I were up with her all night.  Now she can hold her own head up, almost sit up, and sleep through the night.
Scarlett has been in love with her hands! She is always trying to eat and suck on them.  A lot of the time she will fit both hands in her mouth.  While taking these pictures it was hard to get a shot of her without her hands blocking her face.  But then I thought to myself, 'hey, why fight it?'
She has got to be the cutest four month old out there.
I have been searching for the perfect basket to use as a prop for my baby pictures.  Then I found this one and Ross for only $10.  I just stuck it on my kitchen table, put Scarlett in it and started snapping away.
