Beatrix is 8 Months Old

I totally forgot to post these pictures on the blog.  Oops.  Beatrix is 8-months-old and ready to go trick-or-treating.
She is not really going to be a witch but I thought this little set up is cute.  She is ready though, we told her we needed her to be able to sit before trick-or-treating and she can do it.  I want to pull her around in a wagon so sitting is needed.
Beatrix is really a good baby.  We just love having her around the house with us.  She really isn't that much work at all and just feels like my little buddy who goes everywhere with me.
She is totally scared of strangers, which usually isn't a problem because she is with me or Bob all the time.  Whenever someone else does try to hold her it doesn't go well.  That is ok though, she is perfectly happy to look and smile at you as long as you don't get in her face and try to pick her up.

8 Month Old Photos

Calista is eight months old!  She likes rolling over, baby food, her walker, sitting up, paper and babbling.  She dislikes strangers and being put down.
This past month Calista has really started eating baby food.  She has a lot of smushed prunes, green bean, carrots, and plain yogurt.  It is fun to watch her when we get the food out.  She starts rocking back and forth and is visibly excited.  I also picked up a walker toy from the thrift store and she loves it.  The kids push her all around the townhouse.
Speaking of the townhouse, Calista has moved up from sleeping in my small closet to sleeping in my big walk in closet.  She even gets to sleep in her own crib!  It seems crazy that she was over seven months before she slept in a crib for the first time but it is what it is.  This closet is perfect because it has plenty of room for all our clothes and the crib.  It really is the size of a small bedroom.  It even has a window that we had to cover with a towel.  I like how she is still really close to me at night because I still feed her twice a night.

I wrote that she likes babbling.  Sometimes she gets really loud and will make grunting noises or the most common thing she likes to say is "dadadadadadadada."  After which I promptly respond, "mama mama."

Calista loves paper.  She really wants it all the time, we have to watch her closely because more than once she has started choking on a piece.
She did really well for these pictures.  It was like I set her down and she was all, "Sure Mom, I'll sit perfectly and look at the camera for you."
"Oh, you want a smile, no problem."

Leon 8 Months

On the 19th Leon officially became 8 months old! I think he changed a lot over the past month.  He now has 4 teeth and he can crawl.  By crawl I mean army crawl not hands and knees crawl.  He had been moving around for a while but it was a combination of wiggling and rolling.  Three weeks ago during family home evening he started purposely going for the remote.  And the the next day he was doing around the house nonstop.  I thought my other kids slowly worked into it but not him.  One day he couldn't do it, and the next he was crawling everywhere at a pretty decent speed.  Check the end of the post for a video.
Doesn't he have the most perfect face?  I just love it.
I couldn't get him to show me all four of his teeth for the pictures.  Maybe next month.
Leon has still been bitting like crazy.  I can barely hold him without him chomping down on my arm or shoulder.  It really hurts!
I'm sure you can tell but his hair is full out blonde now.  It started very dark brown and has been getting lighter every month.
One thing I love about Leon is that he loves to play with everyone.  Sometimes he will be fussy and I will see Scarlett or Tucker or Penelope run over to him and start tickling him.  He loves it!  And he still has no problem going to people he doesn't know.  Please please please I hope that lasts.
He claps all the time.  I really like it while I am doing zumba, it is like he is cheering me on.
I have been getting rid of his baby stuff already.  Just last week I sold his swing on craigslist :-(.  I am happy to not have to store that stuff but it is hard to let it go.

Leon's first crawl!

I love you Leon.

8 months

On Friday Scarlett officially became 8 months old.  We did a little photo-shoot to document what she looked liked.  In case you haven't noticed I am doing this every month her first year.
I am only posting the head shots because she is not wearing anything in the pictures and although I think her little behind is so cute Bob didn't want me to post them.
Just this past week I would say that Scarlett finally figured out how to eat. We now put the food in her mouth and it doesn't all come right back out (only some comes back out).  She still has one tooth (I think it has been about a month) and she likes to use it.  Everything she grabs goes into her mouth.
Scarlett is becoming more and more attached to me and it is making life difficult.  I thought Penelope had it bad but in some ways Scarlett is much worse.  She won't go to Bob if I am in the room.  She actually won't even play by herself if I am in the room.  She will be playing fine and the second I walk by and she glimpses my feet she looses it and starts screaming.  Penelope really only had a hard time around other people.
By now you might be wondering what is with the crying pictures.  Someone told me they thought her cry is cute so i thought I'd better take a picture of it.  Babies and young kids cry so often it would be weird not to have a picture of the crying.

Scarlett has also started snuggling with me a little bit.  Sometimes I will be holding her and she will just rest her head on my shoulder and lay there for a minute.  I think it started because she was trying to suck on my shoulder and then it evolved into just resting her head.  I love it.
