Our new computer armoire/bookshelf/fireplace mantel

Before....
During...
After...
Here it is. I (being bob) built the whole thing, with Doranda's help.
So starting with the left side, we have the Wii and the Wii games, and all that stuff in the upper cabinet, Doranda and I also have our own shelf were we keep stuff in that cabinet. So there are three shelves in there. Then the bottom one has one shelf. And as of now there is not much in it, but there will be toys and stuff, board games.
Then on the right, the top cabinet holds our computer, we have a chair, but it isn't in the picture. There are no shelves in there. And then in the lower one, there is a shelf, with the printer, our external hard drive, our WIFI stuff, and any other computer type thing we can think of. I really like it, it is a lot easier to keep things clean and organized, and now we can shut the doors and not have to worry about tucker sending a ball or a wood spoon through the computer screen.
Oh and don't worry, everything is to National Fire Code, so we didn't break any rules when we built it.

Sleep

Sometimes I felt like this day would never come. But here it is. Penelope slept through the night! I put her to bed at 8:30 and she didn't get up until 6. I just fed her and put her back to bed. I didn't even realize it until I was talking to Bob this morning just before 6 and he was like 'did you get up to feed Penelope last night?' and I realized 'no, I didn't!' I hope she keeps this up. Tucker never slept through the night until we just stopped getting him when he cried, and that happened around seven months. Penelope is just over four. I know that lots and lots of babies sleep through the night way sooner than this, but hey, I'll take what I can get and enjoy it while it lasts.

I like taking pictures.

Does anyone know where I can get those 55 gallon water barrels?

Update

I took this picture of Tucker a couple of days ago and I really like it. Tucker loves getting his picture taken, and every time I take a picture of Penelope he is right there ready to get his taken also. I've been getting up extra early (5:45) because I am watching another child all week. This gives me a couple extra hours a day that I usually spend sleeping. I will probably spend much of that time blogging. It has been harder than I thought it would be to watch Ethan. He is very good, the hard part is that all day Tucker follows him around taking everything away from him. This make Ethan cry so then Tucker gets into trouble and starts crying and before I know if Penelope joins in the fun and I can't wait until nap time. In the end it is going to be worth it because I am going to take the money I get to buy a nice double jogging stroller. A definite necessity if I am going to run the Tacoma Narrows half marathon in August. That is my goal. Yay!! I can't offically start training until I get the stroller and it gets a little warmer outside. I still worry about it being too cold for Penelope.

We took this picture yesterday right before church. It was freezing, but I think everyone looks nice. Well, it is not my favorite picture of me but everyone is looking at the camera and with the two kids that is the best I can hope for. I had the camera and chairs all set up so we just had to run out and take the pic and run back inside.

Bob and I went to the cannery on Friday. We are well on our way to our first goal of our year supply of food storage. Which is getting a three month supply. I am not sure what to do about the water though. Any suggestions?

Super Why

On Monday we went to toys 'r' us kind of for a family night, and also because we had gift cards for the kids to spend. After about and hour and a half of walking around the store try to figure out which toys the kids would like and play with the most (Tucker wanted everything, so we had to pick for him) we settled on one outfit for Tucker, a toy motercycle, a Super Why doll and notepad. If you've never heard of Super why it is a cartoon on TV where the characters are all super heros who have reading related powers. For Penelope we got two pairs of shoes (they are sooo cute), two more pacifiers, and a rattle type toy. When we got home Tucker really seemed to like his Super Why doll, he played for about a half an hour before we made him go to bed. He was upset like usual so we told him he could play with it tomorrow.

The next morning when Tucker woke up the first thing he says is 'Daddy home?' this is what he says every morning (it is obvious who his favorite parent is). I told him no, but instead of crying like he usually does he goes 'Super Why home?' I told him yes and he ran down stairs and started playing.

It amazes me how well he can remember things after a nights sleep, especially when he sometimes forgets things like going potty.

New Car!!

Check out our new car!

Ok, just kidding. But it feels like a new car because it hasn't been cleaned in a really long time. Bob actually took the front seats out and everything. It hasn't been done since before Tucker was born and it really needed it. It was gross seeing everything that fell in the cracks over the years. I would like a new car for real. I want a mid-size suv with at least 7 seats. Maybe someday. Our car that we have now works fine so we don't technically need it. Even though more space would be nice.

I feel like I haven't blogged in a while. Which makes sense because not too much has really been going on. A couple weeks ago I was called to be in the Primary Presidency so I am no longer teaching one specific class. It was a big change because the previous president had been in for 5 years! Right now we are just trying to get organized, but I think it is going to be really fun.

Last night Bob and I got to go out on a date! Thanks to Uncle Bill who gave us the Outback gift card and the Derr's for babysitting. We had a great time, and ate way too much. It's funny how whenever Bob and I get a chance to be alone we spend half the time talking about the kids.

How could we not when they are so adorable?

She always has to be sucking on something. She will take either her fingers or her pacifier. Her you can she she is going for both.

Bob calls this pic her mug shot.

Penelope has been doing really well lately. She is getting on a scheduel where she takes one morning and one afternoon nap. And some nights I only have to feed her twice instead of three times. When she hits 6 months I am not going to feed her at night anymore, so I am hoping she will do it on her own before then.

Tucker has been doing really well too. But for some reason this past week he has become very very loud. It seems like he just runs around the house screaming and punching all day. On the upside he hasn't had any "accidents in a while."

Three months already!

Penelope is already over 3 months old, wow it has gone by fast. I took these over the last couple of days. I have been having a hard time getting one of her smiling, maybe I'll be able to get one later today.

Everyone keeps saying Penelope looks like Tucker. What do you think?

New Year!!

Now that I have had a house for over a year, I'm not pregnant, and Penelope is 3 months old I don't have any more excuses and I need to get my year supply of food storage. It is a new year and so it is the perfect time to start. I already have a cannery appointment and I am going to first start working on getting water and my three months supply. There is this website i am using called foodstoragemadeeasy.net and it is going to email me something to do every two weeks for this whole year. Then when the year is over I should have my year food storage. Sounds easy right? Well, we will see.

Elder Richard L. Evans gave wonderful counsel several years ago:

We must have faith in the future regardless of ultimate eventualities. There could be no greater calamity in this world than the calamity of sitting down and waiting for calamity. We must not let the things which we can't do keep us from doing the things we can do....The future will always be better for those who are best prepared (Church News, June 25, 1988, p.2).
