Scarlett Genevie

Scarlett Genevie took her first breaths on 6th of May at 6:11 in the morning.
She is 19 inches long and weighs 7lbs 15 oz.
This was my longest labor by a few hours but everything went very well.  After my doctors appointment at 4pm yesterday I started having contractions.  We took a walk around the neighborhood to keep things going.  Bob and I then got the kids set up to spend the night at a friends house so my mom wouldn't need to come out if it was a false alarm and headed over to the hospital.  We got there around 8 and were happy when they said we could stay.  It was probably around 10 when i got the epidural and was pretty much pain free since then.  Getting the epidural was pretty scary and even painful.  The doctors were at home sleeping so we pretty much just relaxed and rested all night. I couldn't sleep because of nerves I actually was pretty shaky unless i was distracted by the tv.  Even though my contractions were pretty strong i wasn't progressing very fast until I got my water broken around 4am.  i think they could have broke my water several hours earlier and the labor would have gone faster and more like my others.  At about 6 I told the nurse that she might want to check me and she said the baby was ready to come out.  She quickly got everything ready and called the doctor (not my normal one who wasn't on call).  A push and a half later and Scarlett was born.  It was crazy how fast she came out.  The doctor even told me to slow down pushing during the second one.  So it was a long, but very easy labor.
Scarlett started crying even before her whole body was out which was kind of funny.  but after the first initial cries she has been so quiet.  She didn't mind at all when they washed her or were moving her around.  She has been pretty much sleeping all morning.  She did go under the heat lamp for a few minutes because her temp was low but she has been fine since then.  The pediatrician said she has a heart murmur but that is very common among newborns and will probably go away in a couple of days.
At around 9 my mom brought Tucker and Penelope up to the hospital.  Penelope did much better than expected.  she didn't try to climb all over me or the baby.  She just pointed at the baby a couple of times and walked around the room like she normally would.
Tucker was so excited to see the baby.  Once he came in he had a huge smile on his face and asked if he could hold her.  He was so gentle and soft with her and when my mom was holding Scarlett he kept asking if he could hold her again.  Tucker was calling her princess Scarlett and he told me that he thinks she is pretty.
My mom took the kids back to her house so now bob, scarlett, and i are just hanging out at the hospital.  We will most likely be discharged tomorrow.  I am pretty tired because I didn't get very much sleep last night so hopefully scarlett will let us sleep tonight.  We would love visitors if anyone wants to come see her.
