Since we got a year pass to the zoo we really wanted to make sure we got our moneys worth. The zoo is so huge that we saw all new things the second time! Below are the giant Koi fish. The picture doesn't do their size justice. They were probably around 3' big and the hugest koi I have ever seen! Someone said they looked like giant goldfish.
The camels were cool.
And I loved the giant elephant with the tusks!
We saw the largest rodent in the world. Remember ROUS (rodents of unusual size) from the Princess Bride? These were about the size of a medium dog except much rounder.
Apparently a lion has a spray range of 7-10 feet. I wonder who was the lucky one to find that out.
This mountain lion was crazy. He kept pacing back and forth along the fence staring at a woman in a wheel chair. Even when she left he climbed up into the corner and kept staring at her. Bob thinks it is because the mountain lion thought she would be easy prey.
More giraffes.
I think we are set for going to the zoo for the year! Scratch that, I think we are set for going anywhere with the whole family for the year!
